The idea
an essay about white space that is mostly white space. On warm off-white, with deep padding all round, one serif family does everything: a light Literata title, "On white space", with "white space" on a rust dotted underline, a small sans byline, a short black rule, and an italic standfirst. The text sits in a 35 em column pushed to the right, and the wide left margin holds three small side notes, each opposite the paragraph it belongs to and marked with a rust number. Two H2s, two italic H3s, a numbered list of three questions, a signature, and a one-line note about the letter. No picture, no box, nothing that moves.
Palette and fonts: warm off-white, ink, rust, warm grey · Literata (light 300 title, 400 body, 600 headings), Instrument Sans for the small print
