The idea

the events page a good bookshop would print and pin by the till. Over a heavy black rule, a Fraunces heading "Evenings with good books and good company" with a red straight underline, and where everything happens. Then one row per event: the day and date in red, what it is and one line about it, the time and the room, the price in serif ("$8 with a glass of wine", "Free, no need to book"), and either "Book a place" or "Just turn up". Five events, newest first, all 24-hour times. One button for the events email at the foot.
