The idea

on warm bone paper, four round risograph dishes orbit on the left, the front plate full size and the others shrinking and dimming behind it, with a dark "Cooked over fire" badge turning slowly above. On the right a wide, heavy heading comes in word by word ("cooked over fire" in ember italic), then the five courses as a numbered list and the prices: $65 for the menu, $45 for the wine, and a dark box for what most guests choose, $110 with the wine, holding the one button.

Palette and fonts: bone, deep green-black, ember orange, teal, mustard · Archivo (expanded, 800), Literata

The calm copy

on warm bone paper, four round risograph dishes sit in an orbit on the left, the front plate full size and the others smaller and dimmed behind it, with a still dark "Cooked over fire" badge above. On the right a wide, heavy heading comes in word by word, then the five courses and the prices: $65 for the menu, $45 for the wine, and a dark box for what most guests choose, $110 with the wine, holding the one button.
