Lou's grandad baked bread for the whole valley. Lou bakes cakes for its birthdays. Same family, same early mornings, sixty-three years apart.

Stan's borrowed van

Stan baked 120 loaves before dawn and drove them up the valley with a bell on the dashboard. Children ran out when they heard it.
