Not at all. Half of our new patients haven't seen a dentist in five years or more. The first visit is a look and a chat: nothing happens without your say-so, and you can stop at any time by raising a hand.
Will it hurt?
Most check-ups and cleans don't. For a filling we numb the tooth first and wait until it has worked. Very anxious? Ask for a longer first appointment, or for sedation for bigger treatments (from $195).
Are you taking new NHS patients?
Children under 18: yes, all year. Adults: when places open. Join the free waiting list and we text you the day a place comes up. Private check-ups have places this week.
How much is a private check-up?
$55 for a check-up with two small X-rays, $65 for a hygienist clean. You get a written plan with every price before any treatment starts, and you can take it home to think about.
I have toothache now. Can you see me today?
We keep emergency slots every morning. Call at 8am on 01632 960 214. If you are already our patient, we see you the same day.
Can I bring my children?
Please do. NHS check-ups for children are free, and children who watch a parent's check-up first usually find their own one easy.
